Winged Victory of Samothrace Goddess Of Nike Statue

"Winged Victory of Samothrace Godess of Nike Statue" stands 11 inches high, made of resin in a marble finish, and is a replica of the Greek statue "Victory" or "Nike", at the Louvre in Paris, France.  The image is dedicated to the gods for the victory won at sea by the allies against Antiochus.  Like archaic and classic Nikai, the godess is dressed in a very thin and transperant chiton that, blown against the body by the wind, models her breast, belly, and left leg, still raised above the prow.  A heavy woolen himanation (mantle) drapes the figure on one side, fluttering behind and wrapping the right leg, which has already touched the ship.
